Structure Discovery of DNA

Many scientists performed different experiment about the DNA structure but all in vain but the two scientists James Watson and Francis Crick in late 1952 and earlier 1953 with the help of crystallography they determined the structure of the DNA and also they received the Noble prize in 1962 for DNA structure determination.

Definition of DNA

The Word DNA stands for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid. Thus it is defined as "The polynucleotide of deoxyribose sugar is called DNA". 

It is the self replicating material that is present in all living organism. It is present in Nucleus of the sell. DNA has n type like RNA. and the conversion of DNA into DNA is called replication.

Observations

With the help of crystallography they came to know this and they both scientists said that the DNA consists of double rings and these two rings twists around each other forming a double helical structure and they also said that the nucleotide form the Basic structure unit of DNA where nucleotide itself is made up of phosphate group, sugar and the nitrogenous group containing the organic bases. and all these groups are linked to each other in the special manner forming the big and big chain where each chain consists of four nitrogenous bases that is Adenine, Thiamine, cytosine and Guanine with an abbreviation of A.T.C.G and these organic bases of nitrogenous group forming the code of gene where each gene has a different code and double helical structure of the DNA has to insure that no disorder should take place.

Functions of DNA

The one of the main function of the DNA is the DNA controls all the activities of the cell. It also store and carry all the biological information of the cell and transfer id from parents to their off-springs that is DNA is also responsible for the heredity character and give instructions to the RNA where formed special type of proteins thus these special type of proteins run the tissue system and our body well.
